At the heart of this choreographic proposal is a need to connect with my family heritage, both Mexican and Angolan. I draw from dances that shaped my childhood, passed down in an intergenerational way, representing a significant cultural wealth within these communities. My choreographic writing is driven by the desire to create bridges between traditional dance and a contemporary approach that encourages a reading less focused on the spectacular and entertaining.

Before announcing their presence, the performers let uncertainty linger, marking the beginning of the piece. Like horses, they take possession of the space and establish a powerful rhythm. A polyrhythm of feet and bodies ignites, inscribing itself into the stage space they share with the audience. The music, movement, costumes, and scenography interrelate without hierarchy. The same will apply to all the humans present in the room.
